PCN Social Prescribing Link Worker
Social prescribing is when health professionals refer patients to support in the community, in order to improve their health and wellbeing. Janice works at The Bureau in Glossop as well as in the local practices. She offers support either by telephone or face-to-face at the surgery.
Musculoskeletal (MSK) First Contact Practitioners
Patients now have the opportunity to see a musculoskeletal (MSK) practitioner as their first point of contact for new problems, knee pain, shoulder pain, back pain etc. Practitioners can come from a range of disciplines including physiotherapy, osteopathy and podiatry; designed to deliver a streamlined, person-centred service and support the growing demands on general practice and secondary care.
If we think that you may be suitable for an MSK Practitioner appointment we can book this directly on our appointment booking system. Appointments are at Glossop Primary Care Centre - However due to COVID-19 the appointments are telephone consultations until further notice.
The Ageing Well Team
We are pleased to welcome the Ageing Well Team to our community services. They are working with our patients who are over the age of 65; offering help and support to those who need it.
We sometimes have medical students attached to our practice for short periods. If you do not wish to have the student present during the consultation please inform the reception staff prior to seeing the doctor.
An advisor holds a weekly session at the surgery.
