COVID-19 & Flu

Flu & COVID Vaccination Programme 2025/26

We’re pleased to confirm that Simmondley Medical Practice will be offering both flu and COVID-19 vaccinations this autumn and winter — exclusively for our registered patients.

Key Dates

  • Main campaign starts: Wednesday 1 October 2025
  • Children and pregnant women (flu): From Monday 1 September 2025
  • COVID vaccinations for care homes and housebound patients: Begin October, with home visits arranged directly

Who’s Eligible?

  • Flu vaccine: All patients aged 65 and over (including those turning 65 before 31 March 2026), children aged 2–3, pregnant women, and other eligible groups (at risk groups) as per NHS guidance. 
  • COVID vaccine: Adults aged 75+, and those immunosuppressed 

Booking Information

  • Appointments will be bookable via a text link, and on the national booking system for the wider public.
  • Text messages with booking links will be sent to eligible patients at the end of August.

Clinic Details

  • Saturday clinics will be available for both flu and COVID vaccines.
  • Patients eligible for both may receive them at the same appointment.
  • Children’s nasal flu vaccines and vaccines for pregnant patients will be scheduled once delivery dates are confirmed.

Out-of-Area Patients

  • COVID vaccines will be available to eligible patients from other practices via the National Booking Site - but flu vaccines are only for Simmondley patients
